Nicaragua is the second poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, and for the deaf population in Nicaragua, the situation there is especially dire.   

Marie Coppola is the founder and co-chair of Manos Unidas.

It's an organization that gives grants to deaf people and their families in Nicaragua.
