This weekend, some 100 million viewers will tune in to watch Eurovision 2009. It's sort of an “intra-country battle of the bands.” Moscow is slated to host this year's contest, which has an unusual amount of controversy.

In  a special edition of Global Notes, Jerome and Tony chat with local Russian radio host, Igor Golubchik about this year's controversies surrounding the contest. The song from Stephane & 3G was banned from the contest and sparked the creation of a whole new song contest in protest.
