Haitian Dancer
February 25, 2010
Instructor Jean Appolon’s weekly Haitian dance class has a strong following.
Sixteen hundred miles north of Haiti, on a busy street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, you can hear drumbeats tumble out of a third floor window. It's the live music for a weekly Haitian dance class. Its teacher travels back to Haiti every summer to teach dance to young Haitians to preserve the dance and music of his homeland. Chris Burrell for the World Vision Report was in Cambridge for this story.
