Comedienne Erica Watson isn’t afraid to wade into fraught territory – or maybe that’s weighty territory. The Chicago native uses characters like the over-sexed Vixen and the Mammy to explore women’s obsessions with weight and self-image. And she takes up race and class issues by looking at how black and white women compare themselves to one other. The woman who says she’s funnier than you are recently hit the big screen in the movie Precious. But she’s also got a touring solo show called Fat Bitch. Vocalo.org's Brian Babylon recently talked to Erica Watson about her comedy. But first, he took her on a trip down memory lane.
