Reporter Fareshteh puts the final touches on an article for Marsal magazine, a magazine written by women, for women.

Newspapers and weeklies have been struggling to stay afloat in the United States. Magazines like "Gourmet" and "Metropolitan Home" have shut down. But that’s not the case in Afghanistan. Publications there are thriving. One that’s doing especially well is a magazine created by women, for women. The World Vision Report’s Will Everett traveled to Kabul to find out what has made the magazine so popular.

This piece originally aired on the World Vision Report and was provided by the Public Radio Exchange.
