Eight years ago Christian Wiman became editor of the highly acclaimed Poetry magazine, based here in Chicago. Over that time he’s published multiple collections of poems and essays. His personal life has also evolved. All of these changes underlie his new book, "Every Riven Thing."
The poems have definitely riveted the critics. When "Eight Forty-Eight’s" book critic Donna Seaman sat down with Wiman recently, she began by having him explain his use of the word riven.
Christian Wiman will read from "Every Riven Thing" Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Stop Smiling Storefront in Wicker Park.
