The 1959 season was memorable not only because of Bill Veeck's ownership. The Sox had a pretty good team through the 1950s, but the decade was dominated by New York. The Yankees had eight appearances in the Fall Classic - winning six. But in '59 the stars aligned, and the South Siders won the American League pennant for the first time in 40 years.
