Violin Prodigy Overcomes Abuse in Young Adult Novel

Cassie is your run of the mill teenager – with a fairly typical family, set of friends, and beloved pet cat. But Cassie is also out of the ordinary – she's a budding violin prodigy. When her father smashes the instrument of her success in a fit of rage, her world falls apart. That's the premise of the young adult novel Shattered by Oak Park writer and therapist Kathi Baron.
