How did the Catholic-oriented societies devastated by World War II prepare their children to lead them to a new future? The Italian and Filipino communities of Chicago have partnered to answer this question by comparing and contrasting the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy of Loris Malaguzzi with American-oriented approaches to education dominant in the lives of Filipinos and Filipino Americans for the past half-century. Find out about these educational approaches - including the role of religion in each - and their impacts on family life and U.S. early childhood education.
