American revolutionary Patrick Henry helped convince young America to cast off the shackles of British colonialism with his famous words “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death.” He made that demand as part of a pivatol speech 302 years ago today.
This week on Radio M, the sounds of freedom and protest songs. The show will highlight songs about freedom from tyranny, freedom from oppression, freedom to love, freedom to be a child and songs of protest from artists including Bob Marley, Selda Bagcan, Papa Wembe and others.
