Miguel del Valle reflected on his failed mayoral bid and his position as the progressive candidate. Then, host Alison Cuddy spoke to author Pierre Clavel about his book, Activists in City Hall: the Progressive Response to the Reagan Era in Boston and Chicago, which examines Chicago’s progressive movement and the history behind electing mayors with deep community roots. And, WBEZ’s Michael Puente joined Eight Forty-Eight from Indiana to talk about the growing solidarity among lawmakers who are fleeing their states to block legislation they consider to be anti-union.
