On May 5, 1862, Mexican forces claimed victory over the French army occupying Puebla, Mexico.

Today Cinco de Mayo is widely celebrated in Mexico with a focus on food, drink, music and dancing.

Cinco de Mayo has also taken hold in the U.S., a sort of St. Patrick's Day, except on Cinco de Mayo everyone is Mexican.

This week on Radio M, host Tony Sarabia provides the music—from and about Mexico—you provide your own food and drink and make sure to kick up your heels!

Also music from “the other” Garifuna artist, Aurelio Martinez and the sounds of Ba Cissoko.
