In 2009, Chicago musician Josh Chicoine teamed up with filmmaker Ilko Davidov and launched their first Chicago International Movies and Music Festival, or CIMMFest. The festival is what it says; an event where movies and music are intimately intertwined. A feature about three Brazilians who travel to India to break into the Bollywood industry, a look at how Ugandan kids use hip hop and break dancing for empowerment and documentary about Transylvanian folk music are just a few of the many entries of CIMMFest 2011.
Since its inaugural edition in 2009 festival director Josh Chicoine has stopped by Radio M for a festival preview and this year is no different. We'll play some clips, and of course plenty of music related to the festival.
