This week marks the one-year anniversary of Haiti's devastating earthquake. Evanston Alderman Lionel Jean-Baptiste stops by to tell us about a recent trip to Washington, in which he was among a delegation of Haitian Americans who met with Vice President Joe Biden about Haiti's ongoing reconstruction. In December, Northwestern University sent students to report on the lives of refugees in three very different settings: Malawi, Jordan and Namibia. Students Corinne Chin and Kevin Short tell us about their experiences reporting abroad, and Northwestern University lecturer Peter Slevin describes the impetus of the Refugee Lives project.
