Michelle M. Wright Ph. D. discusses how the ways in which we analyze blackness --even creative endeavors in African Diaspora culture and thought--deploys a notion of time that is deleterious to both black men and women across the Diaspora. Moving through a discussion of how time is viewed in quantum physics, Western discourses on civilization and achievement, and the African Diaspora, Dr. Wright underscores that it is what we assume so heavily and notice so little--TIME--that often proves our own worst enemy in seeking an egalitarian politics of practice.
