The BP Deepwater Horizon Macondo well blowout, explosion, fire, and oil spill was the most significant economic, environmental, and societal disaster of 2010. What caused it? At the request of the US Secretary of the Interior, Kenneth Salazar, the National Academy of Engineering investigated and released a report on the causes of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig blowout and suggested ways to prevent such a disaster from happening again. C²ST is pleased to present Dr. Arnold Stancell, former Mobil Oil senior executive and co-author of the National Academy of Engineering report, as he discusses the details of what happened on April 20, 2010 and how similar disasters might be prevented.
Event registration and a reception start at 5 PM. The presentation starts at 6 PM. For advance registration, visit C²ST online.
