This lecture focuses on Ensamble Studio works. This studio designs architecture that uses technology with new insight and develops site-specific proposals to global, synthetic systems. The scale of the projects range from small installations and interventions in historical buildings to the design of towers, collective housing systems, and cities. The topics of this talk include structure and space, assembly and material, effective processes of construction, and maximum expression using fewer resources.

Antón García-Abril is an architect and associate professor in the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He received the Spanish Academy Research Prize in 1996. In 2000, he established Ensamble Studio. He has been a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and Cornell University among other institutions of higher learning in America and Europe.
