This event will be recorded for WBEZ’s Chicago Amplified.
Join Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, of Florentine Films, and John Russick, the Museum’s director of curatorial affairs, for a conversation about Chicago in documentary film. The program features clips from several of their works, including the upcoming documentary Prohibition, which will premiere on PBS this October. Before the discussion, enjoy time in our very own speakeasy featuring a specially brewed pre-prohibition beer made exclusively for this event by Pete Crowley, head brewer at Haymarket Brewery. Prohibition-era cocktails will also be discussed and crafted by master mixologist Angie Jackson. Ticket price includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
