Community-based literary center contratiempo presents a bilingual poetry event at the Poetry Foundation. This is the third of several presentations as part of the Poesía en Abril festival. This is the fifth year of the poetry festival, which features dozens of international poets every year from the U.S. and abroad. This year, we celebrate Cuba and Spain, and the vitality of the Spanish language in immigrant literature in Chicago and the U.S.
The readings by our two special guests for this evening, Miguel Barnet and Anna Rossetti, will occur in the context of an environment created by Yair López audio sculptures, visuals by Charly García, and a performance by Rey Andújar, all directed by Ignacio Guevara.
The reading will be in both English and Spanish. RSVP at http://poesiaenabril-eorg.eventbrite.com/, by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling 312-666-7466.
