A note to all my listeners, fans, and creditors. As we put last year behind us, a year that saw Americans struggle with an uncertain economy, war on two fronts and the prospect of Jay Leno in prime time, let us hope that as a nation we can move forward learning from our past mistakes. As we enter a new year, let there be one thing we can all agree on, we need more Jimmy. More Jimmy Carrane. More Studio 312. More insightful and humorous interviews. More A-list celebrities exposing themselves like never before. And for once management has done something right: tomorrow- Thursday (New Years Day), January 1, 2009 at 9am, The Jimmy Carrane New Year's Day Extravengenza will grace Chicago's airwaves. I'll drag myself down to frigid Navy Pier really early on the world's greatest day to sleep in to revisit some of my favorite and funniest interviews including Conan O'Brien, Cindy Crawford, Tommy Chong, Michael McKean and an Angry Jeff Daniels. The only thing warming my freezing limbs will be the thought of you groggily waking up and being edu-tained by my masterful interviewing techniques. That and the fact that I'm making my producer Dave bring me coffee tomorrow. Update: You may miss this special if you stay out past midnight tonight , and if you do you can hear it again at 8 pm that night (or you could go to bed at 9pm tonight like I plan to) in the Eight Forty Eight archive.‚ In these uncertain time let me be the one thing you can count on. And always, remember, Walk, Don't Run.
