File: A Greyhound bus passes the front of the downtown Chicago Greyhound bus station.

A Greyhound bus carrying dozens of passengers has burst into flames on an expressway north of Chicago.

Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says all 57 passengers were able to safely get off the bus, which was engulfed in flames on Interstate-94 near the suburb of Wilmette.

No one was hurt. Bond says investigators are still trying to determine the cause of Monday night's fire.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. and all lanes of traffic on the Edens Expressway were reopened by 1 a.m. Tuesday.
