A campaign official says Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is going to tell supporters that she will run for a second four-year term.
Scott Kastrup is finance director of Preckwinkle for President. He says Preckwinkle will make the announcement at a fundraiser in downtown Chicago on Tuesday evening. He says Preckwinkle will formally launch her campaign during the summer but that she will tell supporters at Tuesday night's annual fundraiser.
Preckwinkle is a former Chicago alderman. She was elected to the board in 2010. She was widely expected to run for re-election.
