The nephew of former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is scheduled to appear in court today.

Richard Vanecko was indicted last week on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for his alleged role in the 2004 death of 21-year-old David Koschman.

Koschman died days after he fell and struck his head during a reported fight with Vanecko outside of a Rush Street bar.

Former U.S. Attorney Dan Webb is special prosecutor in the case. His office has said the grand jury has reviewed thousands of documents and interviewed more than 50 witnesses in the case so far.

The investigation is also looking into how the case was originally handled and why no charges were filed at the time.

The 38-year-old Vanecko is expected to be arraigned in criminal court.
