Today I came upon two really amazing dog-hero stories in the New York Times, one about retired 9/11 search-and-rescue dogs, another about a dog who comforted a 15-year-old rape victim while she testified in court.

I’m running the Rock n’ Roll half marathon on Sunday (and scared out of my shorts about it.) One thing I need when I run is frivolous pop, the sillier and more booty-shaking the better in order to trick myself into thinking that I’m not actually running but dancing in a huge public nightclub.
