To say sixth-grader Joshua Yoon is good at math might be an understatement.

Years before most students take their college entrance exams, the 12-year-old Buffalo Grove boy earned a perfect score of 800 on the mathematics portion of the SAT.

The Arlington Heights Daily Herald reports that Yoon was honored for his accomplishment last week. Teachers, family and friends joined the Twin Groves Middle School student in celebrating the perfect score.

Yoon says he did "OK" on the rest of the college admission exam when he took it on Feb. 4. He says math is his favorite subject and he prepared for the SAT by "looking at a math book."
