This event will be recorded for WBEZ’s Chicago Amplified.
Humanitarian Paul Rusesabagina joins Worldview host Jerome McDonnell for a discussion about taking action against injustice. This is one of the many themes in The Book Thief and mirrored in Rusesabagina's personal experience. Rusesabagina is widely known for sheltering over a thousand Tutsis and moderate Hutus during the Rwandan genocide of 1994, which was documented in the feature film Hotel Rwanda (2004).
This event is part of the fall 2012 One Book, One Chicago program. One Book, One Chicago is presented by the Chicago Public Library, the Chicago Public Library Foundation, Allstate, and BMO Harris.
