Legend says the eleven stringed oud was invented by Lamech, the sixth grandson of Adam. The legend tells that the grieving Lamech hung the body of his dead son from a tree...and that the first oud was inspired by the shape of his son's bleached skeleton. A beautiful sound from a tragic beginning indeed.
This week on Radio M two Chicago oud masters perform some of their musical magic.
Plus new music from Spain's indie rock sensation. Also, a cut from the From the Stage archives.
