Canadian artist Michael Snow has been a prolific experimental filmmaker for more than 50 years. His acclaimed 1966 film, Wavelength, has been simultaneously described as the Citizen Kane of avant-garde film, and as an event signaling the eminent passing of the film era.
This month, the Gene Siskel Film Center is hosting a tribute to Snow, including screenings of some of his earliest films, some of his more recent digital video works, and a survey of his sound work.
He recently spoke with Chicago Public Radio’s Alison Cuddy.
