The Hearing, modeled after a Congressional fact-finding hearing, centers on three topics: property rights; freedom of movement, association and speech; and military aid. A speaker provides the context for each topic, followed by one or more witnesses. A Listener Panel of public officials, academics and religious leaders asks questions and makes comments following the testimonies.
Witnesses include Jeff Halper, Coordinator of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions; Sam Bahour, a Palestinian-American business leader who emigrated to the West Bank over 10 years ago; Amer Shurrab, a Palestinian from Gaza studying in the U.S., whose two brothers were killed in Israeli Operation Cast Lead (via video); Cindy Corrie, whose daughter, Rachel Corrie, was killed by a Caterpillar bulldozer during an Israeli government house demolition in Gaza, and Josh Ruebner, National Advocacy Director of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation.
