Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says a little blizzard is no reason to take off work.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for the Chicago region starting Tuesday evening. The agency expects some areas around Lake Michigan could see up to 18 inches overnight.
But Daley says giving employees a day off work might be a mistake.
"Nah. I don't know about that. I think once you start doing that, especially in the business arena, and especially if the snow doesn't come in. I'm not saying - I can't judge that. Weathermen are always 100 percent right. You have to really judge it. You can't just say blanket."
Daley says the city's snow crews are prepared for the big storm. He says he may look at hiring snow plows from the private sector to help remove snow.
