Mayor Richard M. Daley's last day in office has finally arrived. He's the only mayor many Chicagoans have known, and helped keep the news coverage of the City of Chicago interesting and entertaining.
In honor of Mayor Daley's departure, Eight Forty-Eight heard from everyday Chicagoans, and invited a few non-officials to talk to about working with and under the outgoing mayor.
Janet Pena Davis is a teacher at Roberto Clemente Community Academy, Jim Mullen is a former Chicago Police officer, and Lonie Walker is a musician and owner of Underground Wonder Bar. Lawrence McCaffrey is Professor Emeritus of History at Loyola University in Chicago, and he discussed Mayor Daley's effect on the Irish-American community.
