After more than four months in office it was time for Mayor Emanuel to hit the math hard--the 2011 budget is expected in October. Filling the projected $600-million plus budget gap was no easy task. There have been calls for input: Last month residents had suggestions – and criticisms – for the mayor. City administrators also encouraged people to weigh in online. Whether any of those ideas actually make the final cut remained unclear. But that wasn’t stopping another interested party from weighing in. Chicago Inspector General Joseph Ferguson released over 130 pages of suggestions Tuesday to both raise revenues and cut spending at the city of Chicago. He joined the show to talk about some of his ideas.
