Today on the 3@3, WBEZ Senior Producer Steve Bynum and Huffington Post Chicago's Jen Sabella talk about the topics of the day. Which include:
Steve Edwards: The Heartland Institute put up a billboard on the Eisenhower. It shows a picture of Ted Kaczynski with the words “I still believe in global warming. Do you?” The ad has been taken down, but it made headlines as far away as Europe.
Steve Bynum: The recent suicide of NFL great Junior Seau is making Steve think about his own post-football life and his parenting decisions for his son.
Jen Sabella: Recently, the case surrounding the beating of Madina Lake bass player Matthew Leone was resolved in court. The verdict was not guilty on attempted murder. Leone had intervened in a domestic argument/dispute in his West Town neighborhood back in 2010 where Justin Pivec was allegedly choking and beating his wife. When Leone tried to break up the fight, he was beaten by Pivec. Doctors had to remove parts of Leone's skull and he has been slow to recover.
