The Rundown: Cop cameras, the legacy of the Beastie Boys and Lindsay Fuller

May 9, 2012

The Chicago Police Department is refusing to make any inquiries into a somewhat strange police video obtained by WBEZ several months ago. The footage shows a police blue light camera seemingly being diverted from an area where officers are rushing in to make arrests. WBEZ's Rob Wildeboer reports on Eight Forty-Eight Wednsedsay morning, and Professor Craig Futterman of the University of Chicago Law School looks at police accountability in the surveillance era.

WBEZ music blogger and Sound Opinions co-host Jim DeRogatis reflects on the Beastie Boys decades-long career after the recent death of Adam "MCA" Yauch. To join the conversation live call 312.923.9239.

And singer-songwriter Lindsay Fuller performs and talks about her unintentional path into music and about what happens when Southern Goth meets the Pacific Northwest.
