Jim Kirk is no stranger to Chicago media. The new editor-in-chief of the Chicago Sun-Times used to write the Inc. column for the Chicago Tribune. And just recently he was the editor of Crain's Chicago Business. Kirk knows Chicago. 

But does he know how to run a newspaper in the 21st century? The new owners of the Sun-Times are betting he does. Kirk takes over the paper at a time when all eyes are focused on the immediate future. What will the company do to stem the tide and stay competitive in the news business?
