STORIES ON STAGE
 |
Once upon a time...
quiet as could be, you waited anxiously for the story to
begin. You were about to leave on a journey of the imagination
that conquered time and distance and entered into the intimate
lives of strangers. That magic can be yours again.
“Stories on Stage,” Chicago’s only live dramatic short story reading series, presents some of the world's most compelling literature—performed by Chicago's finest actors. These performances are presented live in Chicago at Steppenwolf Theatre Company as part of the Traffic Jam series.
“Stories on Stage” provides an opportunity for Chicago-area artists and audiences to participate in and experience this special merging of the literary and dramatic arts. Each program features three or four stories sharing a common theme.

This week, we present stories from two different programs from the 2004 live season at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Mike Nussbaum reads Anton Chekhov's “Rothschild’s Fiddle.” Margaret Kustermann reads Isaac Bashevis Singer's “The Key.”
