Whenever possible Sound Opinions hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot like to get out of the studio to spread their rock gospel across the city. This Thursday night at 7 they do it at the Music Box Theatre with a special screening of the Rolling Stones documentary Gimme Shelter. Choosing a film for Sound Opinions Movie Nights is never an easy task. Previous screenings have included The Kids Are Alright and The Future is Unwritten. But, this time Jim and Greg had to choose a film fitting for Halloween Eve. So the question became, "What's the scariest rock film of all time?" After much debate (there always is with Jim and Greg) a consensus was reached. Gimme Shelter, with its portrayal of the Stones' tragic concert at Altamont in 1969, is as horrific and gory as any Halloween slasher film. What do you think? Is Gimme Shelter the scariest rock film of all time? Or perhaps the best? Sound off below. And check out the movie's trailer before joining Jim and Greg this Thursday night for "The Music That Thrilled The World"¦And The Killing That Stunned It."
