Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan couldn't have more different musical pedigrees. She was a founding member of twee-pop titans Belle and Sebastian. He was the frontman of melodic grunge band Screaming Trees.

We had a thrill when Ladino singing sensation and Israeli Yasmin Levy came with her band to sing and chat with us at the WBEZ's Jim and Kay Mabie Performance Studio. We spend most of the hour with Yasmin. She and her band performed some tracks from her CD Mano Suave.

Finding a host to turn the tables in this week's DJ Series wasn't all that hard. Chris Widman’s just down the radio dial at WBEZ's former sister station, WLUW.

Intrepid readers know that we got Canadian superstars Tegan and Sara to perform a few songs for us last summer. We've already posted videos of "The Ocean" and "Back In Your Head." Today we drop our last song from that afternoon (and wish it were still that warm outside).

Steve Dawson is a very busy guy. When he’s not playing in his band Dolly Varden, he’s teaching songwriting at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. When he’s not teaching, he records and produces other people’s music.
