Chicago Public Radio's Tony Arnold reports that businessman Jim Oberweis has conceded his race against Democrat Bill Foster in his bid to represent Illinois' 14th Congressional District. The loss is Oberweis' second this year alone, having lost a special election for the same seat earlier this year. And its his 5th in a major party race: twice for U.S. Senate, once for Governor, and twice now for U.S Congress. In the end, Oberweis - a candidate with deep pockets, solid name recognition, strong command of the issues, and deep local roots - couldn't find a way to win in Dennis Hastert's home turf. You do the math.
