Republican delegates are scheduled to finally nominate Mitt Romney as their pick for president Tuesday evening, but that’s not the only thing the Illinois delegation is excited about.
The convention is being held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum which can hold up to 20,000 people. Inside, States are grouped together in blocks throughout the stadium.
In 2008, the Illinois GOP delegation did not have the best seats in the house, but this time around, the state delegation seems pleasantly surprised at their place in the peanut gallery.
Illinos State Treasurer Dan Rutherford was pretty pleased while speaking to Illinois delegates.
"We're right behind Wisconsin. It's actually pretty good seats."
It may turn out to be an especially boisterous corner of the stadium considering Wisconsin is home to Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan.
Earlier, Rutherford told a crowd of delegates that he wants the state to put up a unanimous vote for Romney. He was alluding to the handful of Rick Santorum delegates in the room.
Whether those delegates switch their allegiance or not, will be seen later tonight when the states have their roll call votes.
