For Global Activism, we talk with Chicagoan David Weindling. He left his career in private business to dedicate himself full-time to socioeconomically deprived kids in the Chicago area. Dave founded Oak Park based Farther Foundation to give scholarships so high-schoolers can travel the world and do service projects and to have contact with people from other cultures. He hopes these encounters will inspire these kids to overcome their own life challenges. The Farther Foundation has sent, over the last five years, more than 80 students to 25 countries, across six continents.
