For this week’s Weekend Passport,  we talk with couple Jerri Zbiral and Alan Teller. They discovered a shoe-box  filled with old photographs and negatives of 1945 India at a Northbrook estate sale. The quality of the photographs led the Chicago couple to visit India to find out more about who took the photos and why. While there, they gathered together contemporary Indian artists, who draw inspiration from these images and create new artworks. As a result, Zbiral and Teller co-curated the new exhibit, “Following the Box”, a cross-cultural exploration of how art reveals our cultures over time and space. Joining them is artist Chhatrapati Dutta, who helped with the project. “Following the Box” opens July 6th, 2018 at the Loyola University Museum of Art
