Blagojevich attorney says no plea deal is in the works

December 3, 2010

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's attorney says there's no chance his client will negotiate a plea deal. Attorney Sheldon Sorosky said a plea deal hasn't been discussed.

"None whatsoever. Absolutely not," Sorosky said. "It's not on our radar screen. Governor Blagojevich is innocent."

Blagojevich's attorneys were in court Thursday to discuss the former governor's April re-trial. Blagojevich has kept a low profile since he was convicted on one count of lying to the FBI earlier this year.
