Wednesday’s Chicago Board of Education meeting marked the end of an era. The city is transitioning to a completely new school board under a new mayor. During the latest installment of Cheat Sheet, WBEZ education reporter Linda Lutton talked with Eight Forty-Eight's Alison Cuddy about the send-off board members were given.
Lutton provided sound from a rare vote of “no” by a school board member and voices of a parent and principal protesting school closings, which the board approved. A new and improved summer school is on the horizon and Lutton tells Eight Forty-Eight why some hotel housekeepers showed up to speak at this month's meeting.
