Iron and Wine perform in WBEZ Studios for Sound Opinions

September 8, 2011

Iron and Wine has come a long way since 2002. Originally the bedroom-folk project of film professor Sam Beam, the band has grown into a major-label powerhouse. In June, after playing for an over-capacity crowd in Millennium Park, the band stopped by our Jim and Kay Mabie Performance Studio to record a session for Sound Opinions. The line-up for that session was six deep and included the Oscar-winning star of the film Once, Markéta Irglová. The video of "Woman King" is this week's installment of our Live Music Thursday podcast. Subscribe to it here.
