Chicago public high school students lost ground in Illinois' latest round of standardized tests.

Last month, Mayor Richard Daley was on hand for the unveiling of the city's elementary school test scores. Those students posted gains.

But Chicago's high school scores are a different story. The district quietly released those Friday afternoon. Seventy-percent of Chicago public high school students failed to meet state standards in reading. An even greater percentage missed the mark in math.

This is the third consecutive year that high school scores have slipped.
