Chicago History Museum senior curator Olivia Mahoney explores this turbulent period through the personal stories of three Chicagoans, including a war hero and an abolitionist. The evening includes a discussion of original Civil War–era images, documents, and artifacts.

This spring, the Chicago History Museum commemorates the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Join us for a series of programs addressing a wide range of topics related to the war and its evolving legacy.
