NATO is on and G8 is off. Many Chicagoans breathed a sigh of relief, while city officials expressed disappointment and quick resolve to forge ahead with NATO. There is a lot of talk, planning, and anticipation as we prepare for the powerful leaders, international press, and unpredictable protesters expected to descend upon the city. Join us for a discussion with a panel of experts as we explore the challenges and potential, economic benefit or bust, and making or breaking the city’s international reputation. Is Chicago ready to play host on a global scale?

Journalist Laura Washington moderates this monthly series that explores contemporary issues affecting life in Chicago. Panelists include Rachel Bronson, the vice president of “studies” at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where she is helping to create a nationally and internationally recognized foreign policy think tank in Chicago, and Steve Bynum, senior producer of Worldview.
