I don't usually do two Sound Opinions posts in one day, but we're talking about Stop Making Sense breaking news!‚  I just got this note from Todd Bachmann (Sound Ops Exec Producer):

If you were tuning in yesterday to our show Worldview, you may have noticed a young hipster version of Jerome McDonnell hosting the show. But alas, it wasn't. It was an accidental pitch shift for the pre-recorded interview. Hey, it happens.

So the band Phoenix is here taping for Sound Opinions. Usually, they don't tell me when bands are coming through because Sound Ops is afraid I'll embarrass them with my antics. So when Jason told me the leftover food in the green room was for the band Phoenix, he immediately cringed.

Ira Glass is one busy person. But luckily, he has a studio next to his desk.‚  Mr. Glass talked to us to confirm that This American Life TV is going on hiatus. What does that mean for Ira and the radio show? And does the future include moving back to Chicago?

Ira let the cat out of the bag last night at a panel discussion in NYC that there will be no more "This American Life" on Showtime. This from the article: "I don't know if I can say this yet, but we've asked to be taken off of television," Glass revealed.
