The best places for Chicago cyclists to meet up, tune up and ride like the wind. 

For the first time in Chicago, bicyclists are getting a stoplight and two lanes. But car traffic lost a lane.

WBEZ obtained data from the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety from 2009 through September 7, 2012 of this year, to see exactly where these dooring accidents are occurring -- and what type of accidents they result in. There have been 577 reported doorings during that time period.

Some Chicago aldermen are schedule to debate Monday whether the city should fine cyclists who text on their cell phones. Ald.

The weather may be cooler but it’s great for those biking to work.  That may not be good news for everyone, though. Plenty of drivers are less than thrilled about sharing the road with cyclists.

With back-to-school time here, the League of Illinois Bicyclists is making a push to get more kids to bike to school.It cites data showing that the number of U.S. kids biking to school plummeted from 42 percent in 1969 to just 16 percent in 2001.
